Mitch Fry - Biography
Mitchell Fry was born in 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas and raised in Wheaton, Illinois. Encouraged by his father, he attended art classes at the Art Institute Chicago. Mitch received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University, focusing on studio art, engineering and environmental design under Ray Fink. He attended Manchester Polytechnic in Manchester, England, where he studied industrial design with Victor Papanek.
Spanning more than 33 years, Mitch has a career utilizing his skills in sculpture, design and engineering, manufacturing custom residential and commercial retail furnishings, sculpture and objets de art.
With exhibits and installations in California, New Mexico and Arizona, Mitch maintains a studio in Phoenix Arizona. In 2009, he received the Materials Grant Award from the Phoenix Art Museum’s Contemporary Forum, followed by a 2010 exhibition in the Phoenix Art Museum.
Mitch Fry is represented by Bonner David Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona.
